Admitted in 1997 and having worked for trustee companies and larger legal firms, Philip brings vast expertise to the practice.  Philip has advised clients by preparing estate planning documents, attending to simple and complex deceased estates, as well as acting for clients in family provision and disputed will matters.

Philip holds a BA LLB and a Masters of Laws (Wills and Estates), and is an Accredited Specialist in Wills and Estates.  Philip is also a Public Notary.

Expertise

Philip has particular expertise in the following areas:

  • simple estate planning – including preparation of wills, enduring powers of attorney and appointments of enduring guardian
  • complex estate planning – including the use of family trusts and superannuation, and considering blended families and assets outside of Australia
  • applications for probate or letters of administration
  • contested estate litigation – including issues of testamentary capacity and interpretation of a will
  • public notary services – certifying documents for recognition outside of Australia

Philip has presented on “Estate planning – the basics” as part of continuing professional development for accountants and other lawyers.

Philip has also presented on “Aspects of International Estate Planning” for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and for continuing legal education providers.
